Darren Berrecloth

My name is Darren Berrecloth and i live in a small town called Qualicum Beach

I originally started riding bikes when i was a kid well what am I kidding everyone rode bikes when they were kids because we had no cars. The first real bike i had was a specialized rockhopper hard tail, and it didnt take me very long to destroy it, before i knew it the wheels

were bent the bars were bent and i did not have enough money to keep fixing it.

So my local bike shop convinced me to buy a bmx if I wanted to keep doing jumps So I did then I started racing and one thing led to another and here i am.

A professional freerider for specialized, travelling the planet searching for the sickest terrain and riding comps. I am currently tavelling a ton and am super excited to have the opportunities to explore the unkown and push my own limits everyday. I keep pinching myself to make sure its not a dream but yes it is reality and yes I do ride for the best bike company in the business.

hobbies; Snowboarding, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, skiing, bmxing, motoxing, quading, wakeboarding, and building trails and stunts.

I must apologize

April 26, 2011

I must apologize for the lack in blogs but I was in argentina and couldt get into my emails. Yah I know lame excuse but whatev's.
The objective of the trip was to film for where the trail ends and to film a pilot for the tv show where the basis of it is to follow me around the globe searching for the most epic big mountain terrain, Meanwhile getting in depth with all the ups and downs that come with the task.

The rider list on this trip was Myself, Cam Zink, Kurt Sorge, Mike Kinraid, and Andreu Lacondeguy. Our entire crew was 12 and man what a hassle trying to get a crew that big to move quickly lol! We ended up getting to this rad zone in the desert and found epic lines all over the place. It wasn't until later in the first day that things went sideways. A park ranger rolled up the wash we were hanging out building lines in and said your not allowed to ride here this is private land and its a reserve. We all looked at each other and said oh crap we came half way around the world only to get shut down......

Two days later and lots of schmoozing and convincing we went back out to the desert with the dude that shut us down. After 2 days of talking he realized that we were not hurting the desert environment and decided to come with us and check out what we were doing just to make sure. Lets just say he turned from the guy shutting us down to a fan in seconds. Once we dropped our first line he was nothing but smiles and we then got the green light to keep shredding and the shoot was back on like donkey kong.

The next few days we all shredded some very unique lines and cool features, the dirt was similar to utah in some places and more similar to china in others. One moment that sticks out is when Me and Kinraid saw this big line we decided that it would be epic to shred, So the next day we went up there to shred it and Zink had this idea to shred it all at once. My thoughts were that it would be kinda dumb since the filmers couldnt capture 5 guys at once. So anyways we hiked the 200 foot face and got to the top just as the light was fading as usual. and we hurried to try and make sure the camera crew was ready and dialled. They said they were ready and so we all dropped in and I dropped in a steep roll in with a 20 foot air out and I got a huge wind gust and went off the lip sideways.... Yah safe to say I landed on my side and head first, not too much fun since it took me a while to stop tomahawking and then I slid down the slope a fair ways half out of consciousness. I get my crap sorted and rolled down the hill in a daze and was not very stoked that nobody got the shot of me crashing that almost took me out for the entire trip.
The camping was super rad as well, we all had a real good time getting sudsy and we even hiked a 800 foot face and shredded down it in the moonlight with no lights.
