Darren Berrecloth

My name is Darren Berrecloth and i live in a small town called Qualicum Beach

I originally started riding bikes when i was a kid well what am I kidding everyone rode bikes when they were kids because we had no cars. The first real bike i had was a specialized rockhopper hard tail, and it didnt take me very long to destroy it, before i knew it the wheels

were bent the bars were bent and i did not have enough money to keep fixing it.

So my local bike shop convinced me to buy a bmx if I wanted to keep doing jumps So I did then I started racing and one thing led to another and here i am.

A professional freerider for specialized, travelling the planet searching for the sickest terrain and riding comps. I am currently tavelling a ton and am super excited to have the opportunities to explore the unkown and push my own limits everyday. I keep pinching myself to make sure its not a dream but yes it is reality and yes I do ride for the best bike company in the business.

hobbies; Snowboarding, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, skiing, bmxing, motoxing, quading, wakeboarding, and building trails and stunts.

So you think I could catch a break

June 28, 2011

So you think I could catch a break but no, I had to come down with bronchitis and pneumonia right when I'm finally healthy enough to train. I get two decent days on the bike after my injury and I head down to Woodward for p bike launch and my cold turns into a full blown assault. I feel like death so I pop a ton of cold and flu remedy pills and get some riding in. The next day I pack up and fly to Manchester for the claymore challenge. My first contest of the season and for four days I'm laid up in bed wondering when I'm gonna get better and Aaron chase rings me up on Friday and says he is in the hospital with pneumonia and it's the same symptoms I've been having all week so I go in and get some antibiotics and some good drugs. So I wake up Saturday actually feeling alive and it's been raining so the comp was pushed back until Saturday so I try to slam some cold flu remedies and ride practice. I end up feeling ok on the bike and drop in for my first run and I bobbled a bit but I at least held it together since I wasn't feeling all that motivated or energetic. My second run was going awesome and I rolled into the last jump being soo  exhausted and I went for a switch threewhip and I just didn't have the gas or strength left in me and I just let go and took a good crash. All in all I was stoked that with only a few days back on the bike I had a run going that would have put me in third place and I was also psyched to take my first hard bail after breaking my back. So now I'm home for two days until I take off for France for the chattel mountain style. Wish me ya,ll
