Sea Otter Classic
April 18, 2011It seems every year Sea Otter gets a little more fun, whether it’s all the people that go or just hanging out with everyone.
For me, I like to always do something fun with whichever bike I’ll be racing. Last year I built up a S-works Enduro that had everything carbon imaginable, strictly because it’s different and the dh track doesn’t have the usual demands. This year we had some fun on my Demo 8. With help from all the guys here at Specialized and the boys at SRAM we built up a 32.8lb dh bike. Why you might ask, because we can. It’s fun and different to have something out of the ordinary.
There was a lot of prototype parts I was just testing, but in all reality it wasn’t too much different than my normal race bike. I had some light, full size tires and xc tubes, but that’s all I will change out going into my next race. We have been testing out a new rearend which is a little narrower, runs 7 spd and it worked out perfect. All together, I came out with a light, fun, attention getting bike. Isn’t that the “SEE” Otter goal? I like to show off the new parts from all my sponsors that always help me so much.
