Chris Anker Sørensen
Chris started riding back in 1997 and joined the local cycling club in Hammel the year after. Chris quickly showed his skills and in 1999 he was selected for the national team.
In 2001 Chris took part in the Junior World Championship before joining the Danish Team PH in 2002.
2003 was ruined by bad health and Chris considered his choice of career. Chris desided to give cycling another shot and returned to his childhood club in Hammel.
Fit again, Chris joined the Danish Team Designa in 2005 and stayed there until 2007 when joining Team CSC.
The first year with Team CSC Chris came 6th in Tour of Germany and showed very promising riding. 2008 saw Chris winning stage 7 of Dauphiné Libéré after a fantastic stage and at the World Championship he helped team mate Matti Breschel to a bronze medal.
In 2009 Chris started and finished the Tour de France for the first time. In the mountain stages he proved to be a valuable supporting rider. In the last race of the year Chris showed his strength by winning Japan Cup.
In 2010, Chris won an amazing mountain stage win in Giro d'Italia after dropping everyone on the steep climb on his way to the finish line. Once again, he demonstrated world class as a supporting rider during the Tour de France and at the world championships where he helped compatriot, Matti Breschel to the second step on the podium.
