Specialized Factory Racing Domintes Sea Otter Short Track
Specialized Factory Racing | April 18, 2010
The season has officially begun for the whole outfit at Specialized Factory Racing and what a way to start with Lene Byberg getting second place on her S-Works Era in the ladies short track at the Sea Otter classic behind Georgia Gould. The short and super fast riding was not suited down to Lene's strength but she showed fine form while also displaying what some hard work in the off season can do!
There was serious excitement surrounding the mens race as for the first time Burry and Christoph would be joining Todd on an S-Works Stumpjumper 29'er. What better place to race than Specialized HQ's backyard in Monterey and the boys did not fail to deliver! Todd Wells gave many of the staff that had come out to support a whole lot more to cheers about when he dominated the mens short track from the gun through to the finish, he was however given a hard time by fellow team mate Burry Stander who closed the gap after a slower start but was then forced to take it easier while nursing a slow puncture.
Burry managed to hold on to a close second place with Christoph Sauser finishing in 4th and Sid Taberley from Sho-Air in 5th...that equated to 4 Specialized riders making the podium today! Tomorrow will be a different game as we head into the first full length XC Racewhere the guys will be hoping to emulate todays performance! Well done to the team.
