Well last week I finally got my 29er going, and after a little spin on the road Friday, I figured I’d break it in at the US Cup, Kenda Cup West #4 -Santa Ynez, this past weekend. Having no idea what to expect, I tried to keep an open mind, I spent the first lap dangling off the back of the front group, getting a feel for the new bike and learning the bikes strengths. Come lap 2 it was time to get down to business, I opened a small gap early on, and kept it till the finish line. Sundays short track was another experiment, one cool thing about the 29er is the option to put road or cyclocross tires straight on. With the short-track being a flat non-technical course I put some cross tires on, the little tires were so fast, I almost felt like I was cheating, Lol! All in all it was another good weekend of racing at Santa Ynez, Up next, the Otter!!
